Our friends over at Gaywheels.com have picked the most “gay-friendly cars” of the year 2007, so before we say good bye to the year that has been, let us take a look at what they have. These selections were filed under four categories, because each writer would have to name their picks for all the categories.
Revving up its powerplant, the flashy and youthful Volvo C30 takes the title as the Best New Car. According to the founder of Gaywheels.com, the fresh C30 is a “perfect blend of modern-retro styling, versatility, safety and fuel efficiency.” We agree that the C30 is undoubtedly a good and hip new car, but we prefer the Nissan GT-R. Its Nissan parts were sexily contoured to suit both sexes, even our gay friends. But hey, it’s Joe LaMuraglia’s call right? We may agree or disagree along the way but these are the cars that made it to their list, so let’s just check them out. The other three Best New Cars were: the Audi A5/S5, Audi R8, and the Saturn Astra. (Wait, a Saturn?)
The Best Makeover title went to the Cadillac CTS. The best family car is the Buick Enclave, while the Best Club Car goes to the Lincoln Navigator. Pretty cool ride, I agree with their choice, this ride is really an eye-catcher and a pretty attention-drawer before entering a club. Here’s an interesting category: Best Date Car. This title went to four different cars—and shockingly enough, the Toyota Corolla is one of them. The other three Best Date Cars were: The Audi TT Cabriolet, Jaguar XK Convertible, and the MINI Clubman.
Anyway that is what’s happening in the automotive industry—aside from all the carmaker’s bickering and new creations, it is nice to sit back every once in a while and get a new perspective of what other people think about these cars too.
