Failed emission test–not the end of your life on the road

February 21, 2008

Smoke belching vehicles definitely have no place in countries with high emission standards. The vehicles sold and used in these places that are under the umbrella of the European Union have to strictly comply with the high emission standards. Some states here in the America are close to following such rules as well. Of course, not all of us can go to a dealership and buy a new car with less noxious emissions, right? Do not fret if you failed an emission test or if your auto is guilty of emitting Carbon monoxide, Hydro carbon, and the like, because there are special auto parts that can help you pass that test.

I know several auto parts that can just do the trick and keep your vehicle emit less of those noxious gases. The first thing on my mind is the catalytic converter. Most of the latest models now are equipped with this component, but there are still some unfortunate cars like yours that are cat con-free. Catalytic converters are available in high-end shops as well as discount auto parts warehouses, it’s up to you and your pocket. Anyway, the cat con will be part of your vehicle’s exhaust system. Strategically installed right before the tail pipe, this component treats the engine’s exhaust fumes before it is released to the air we breathe. The cat con you’ll install will all depend on your car’s specifications. Another thing your auto can use is an oxygen sensor or a cold air intake. Both of these make sure that your engine does combustion efficiently. With a good combustion, there is lesser production of noxious gases.

It’s all up to you whether you like a cat con, a cold air intake, or an oxygen sensor for your smoke belching vehicle. If you ask me though, the catalytic converter is on top of my list and then if you get your next pay check, maybe you could give your car the other eco-friendly auto parts I mentioned. Once your ride is fully-geared, your vehicle can surely ace that emission test.

Increasing horsepower? Possible!

December 10, 2007

Many car owners think that optimizing engine performance is difficult. As a result, they have their cars modified, complete with performance parts and enhancers. But what they do not know, is that there is one simple component that can guarantee this needed power.

For Jeep drivers, they know that they are blessed with Jeep parts that are inexpensive yet very helpful when it comes to performance. For instance, the Jeep cold air intake. Did you know that this shiny and attractive metal tubing is not only a decoration to the engine bay, but a power-booster too? It works simply. While it basically aims to cool the air that comes inside the Jeep, it also does a little magic. Get this: with every ten degrees that the Jeep cold air intake cools off the air temperature, one percent is added to the engine’s horsepower. Amazing huh? And that is not a joke or an advertising gimmick. Cold air intakes are really known for making these wonders happen.

Practical solutions for the wise car owners are presented by Jeep. This probably makes you think, “Ah, so that is why a Jeep is so efficient both in power and performance”. So there you have it—not really a secret but a very powerful tip—install high-quality cold air intakes to achieve that desired increase in horsepower.

What You Get from a Cold Air Intake

August 23, 2007

I know a lot of motorists who want a one-stop overhaul for their vehicles. Well, who doesn’t? If there’s a single way to make all necessary enhancements for a vehicle, I bet every car owner would rush to the auto shop who would offer that kind of service. In reality, however, all the defects of your vehicles cannot be resolved by just a single car check-up, and you don’t actually get everything you want from a single automotive accessory. Unless you’re a resident of Utopia, you are far from enjoying the benefit of an all-in-one vehicle service.

In spite of that, the auto mechanic in you still has a significant reason to celebrate. Though you can’t have everything in one great package, there is an automotive device that can offer you three incredible enhancements for your vehicles. Not bad, right? The Cold Air Intake is a popular vehicle mechanism that serves remarkable functions:

Cold Air Intake

Boosting the Engine Power

The most important reason you should give your vehicle an efficient cold air intake system is that this device can effectively intensify the power of your vehicle’s engine. How does it actually work? Your vehicle needs cold air to obtain that amount of power needed for optimum performance. Consequently, the temperature must clearly be reduced in order to obtain the cold air. Decreasing the temperature of the air that goes through your vehicle is the function of the Cold Air Intake.

Giving Your Engine a New Look

Cold Air Intake will improve not only your engine’s performance, but also the physical appearance of your vehicle. Manufacturers make cold air intakes available in a wide variety of colors. Some of the most popular are blue, red, chrome, and silver. When you open the hood of your vehicle, people will definitely notice the change in your engine’s appearance.

Enhancing the Sound of Your Engine

Even the sound of the vehicle matters a great deal to many motorists. Cold Air Intake creates an intake noise that makes a statement that your vehicle has a high performance engine.

Though you can’t have it all in one device, at least you can get three great benefits from the Cold Air Intake! So the next time you feel like enhancing your vehicle, you may consider getting this three-in-one device.
