Our friends over at Gaywheels.com have picked the most “gay-friendly cars” of the year 2007, so before we say good bye to the year that has been, let us take a look at what they have. These selections were filed under four categories, because each writer would have to name their picks for all the categories.
Revving up its powerplant, the flashy and youthful Volvo C30 takes the title as the Best New Car. According to the founder of Gaywheels.com, the fresh C30 is a “perfect blend of modern-retro styling, versatility, safety and fuel efficiency.” We agree that the C30 is undoubtedly a good and hip new car, but we prefer the Nissan GT-R. Its Nissan parts were sexily contoured to suit both sexes, even our gay friends. But hey, it’s Joe LaMuraglia’s call right? We may agree or disagree along the way but these are the cars that made it to their list, so let’s just check them out. The other three Best New Cars were: the Audi A5/S5, Audi R8, and the Saturn Astra. (Wait, a Saturn?)
The Best Makeover title went to the Cadillac CTS. The best family car is the Buick Enclave, while the Best Club Car goes to the Lincoln Navigator. Pretty cool ride, I agree with their choice, this ride is really an eye-catcher and a pretty attention-drawer before entering a club. Here’s an interesting category: Best Date Car. This title went to four different cars—and shockingly enough, the Toyota Corolla is one of them. The other three Best Date Cars were: The Audi TT Cabriolet, Jaguar XK Convertible, and the MINI Clubman.
Anyway that is what’s happening in the automotive industry—aside from all the carmaker’s bickering and new creations, it is nice to sit back every once in a while and get a new perspective of what other people think about these cars too.

We see Ferrari cars as sleek, sexy, and contoured for extreme aerodynamics. Personally, contrary to arch nemesis Porsche’s SUV, I do not agree to the notion that it is time for Ferrari to follow this lead. A Ferrari is just not quite the same if it will come in a bigger, bulkier package. The same thing goes if it will have a sort of hatchback… But Vandenbrink convinced me otherwise. This photo tells it all, how Michiel B. van den Brink was able to think up of a way to integrate a hatchback into Ferrari’s tradition of aesthetically defined contours seamlessly. (It still has not gotten a nod of approval from the Italian boys though, so don’t get all excited.)
This shooting brakes concept for a Ferrari is highly agreeable—a very brave move for a famed designer. This two-door wagon is just as bad and jaw-dropping as other Ferraris, but it does not have the same edgy flair. But it will do, if Ferrari is really looking for a good design to make their vehicles reach a whole new level. So this gets a hats-off from Autofrankie, but I would like to hear what you guys think about this design. Do you think that Vandenbrink will be able to get the Italian boys to put the stallion marque in front of this concept?

Well, since the year is about to end, I have decided to post some interesting news about the automotive world. It should give us all an idea as to what 2008 will look like—and the same thing goes for the 2009 Chevy Camaro.
2007 has proved itself to be very bright for the Camaro. First of all, it has opened the doors for the Camaro to bask in the spotlight as Bumblebee in Transformers. Imagine the Camaro being all mighty and telling the Beetle, hey, it’s my turn. (Good thing though that the Nissan GT-R wasn’t unveiled at that time, coz its Nissan parts will surely kick the Camaro’s bumper.) But aside from that short-lived fame in the big screen, the Camaro has undergone some notable changes in the fascia and underneath the hood. Now if you too are excited to see just what this baby will look like, then here are a few teasers. Your imagination needs to be flexed a little, because I have here the different shades that the Camaro will be available in. Note though that while Chevrolet has not released any statement regarding the 10 different colors that the Camaro will have, this comes from an alleged reliable source according to Autoblog. Apparently, “a painter at an unspecified dealership” now has the list of the Camaro’s colors. So, check out these shades and lemme know which do you prefer.
